Applications are now available on the Food Services page of the district website at the following link:
Applications are also available at school offices and the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified Food Services Office, located at 4999 Casa Loma Avenue in Yorba Linda.
Applications must be completed each year and may be sent in at any time during the school year. If your child currently has meal benefits, a new application for the new school year must be completed on or before October 13, 2014 to avoid lapse in benefits. Only one application is required per family.
Another reason to complete the application is that students may be eligible for other benefits.
School bus fees along existing routes are reduced for students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals. High school students can reduce their cost of advanced placement exams to as low as $5 per test.
The free and reduced-price meals are offered through the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program. Household size and income criteria are used to determine eligibility.
Children who receive Food Stamp (CalFRESH), California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKS), Kinship Guardianship Assistance Payments (KinGAP), or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) benefits are automatically eligible regardless of the income of the household in which they reside. Eligibility for a foster child is based on a separate application and solely on the child’s income.
