Speaking before Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District managers on August 14, Superintendent Doug Domene proudly introduced to the stage Will Truong, a 2014 Esperanza senior who was in a tragic trampoline accident this past June.
Remarkably, Will didn’t give up and three weeks ago he demonstrated his tenacity to live life and was able to leave the hospital. Since he missed graduation while in recovery, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Board of Education and Superintendent Doug Domene invited Will and his family to receive his high school diploma. When he walked on to the stage, managers burst into cheers and applause. This year’s theme for the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District is “The Magic of the PYLUSD” and Will is an extraordinary example of the magic that takes place each day.
