In an effort to get more information out to the public, this week the district launched an “Upcoming Events” calendar that is available on the district’s website at www.pylusd.org.
The calendar is set to display events and meetings; however individuals can customize the calendar to display specific calendars by topic. For example, one of the calendars is an “Entertainment Calendar” which lists all visual and performing arts performances as well as events taking place at the district’s brand new Performing Arts Center. There is also a “Parent University” calendar, a “Board of Education Meetings” calendar, a “School Year Calendar,” and a “Community Projects” calendar that lists food drives or other student projects to help the community.
In the next few weeks, the district is adding more calendars such as advisory meetings. Schools are also invited to list events that are open to the public.
Calendar users can also upload items listed directly on to their personal Google or I-Cal calendars.
The calendar is one of the many ways that the district is implementing numerous initiatives of its five-year strategic plan, called the “PYLUSD Advantage.” Specifically, initiative 3.3 calls for utilizing “all available resources to communicate with district stakeholders and the community at large.” To read all of the district’s initiatives, visit the “PYLUSD Advantage” section of the district’s website.
