Artworks — Annual Student Art Exhibition

The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) invites all parents, students, and community members to attend the annual student art exhibition, Artworks. This highly anticipated event will be held at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum and will be open to the public from April 1 through April 28, 2025, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.. Special opening and closing receptions will take place on March 31 and April 28, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Admission to the Artworks exhibition is free for all PYLUSD community members. However, those interested in exploring additional Nixon Library attractions—including the gardens, the Presidential helicopter, and historical exhibits—must purchase admission through the Nixon Library. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Nixon Library for generously hosting this year’s event and providing our students with the opportunity to showcase their creative achievements in such a distinguished venue.

As visitors explore the Nixon Library, we encourage them to take note of several key displays:

  • 2025 Artworks Endangered Species and Nature Conservation Poster Contest Winners
At the entrance to the main hallway, attendees will find the winning and finalist entries from this year’s Endangered Species and Nature Conservation Poster Contest. Five students were recognized with a $50 Blick Art Materials gift card, and their posters were prominently displayed throughout the district to promote the exhibition.

  • Student Artwork Showcase
This year’s exhibition features works of art created by Transitional Kindergarten through 12th-grade students, thoughtfully selected by PYLUSD art educators. While Artworks is a non-competitive showcase, the PYLUSD Artworks Poster Contest and PTA Reflections Contest winners will be recognized.

  • Artwork Placement

    • The foyer near the Nixon Library gift shop features 2D artwork from students across all grade levels. Pieces are categorized as follows:
      • Elementary (TK–6th grade)
      • Intermediate (6th–8th grade)
      • Secondary (9th–12th grade)
    • The Presidential Cabinet Room houses 3D artwork, highlighting the exceptional talent of our middle and high school students.
    • Outside the theater entrance, visitors will find the 2025 PYLUSD Reflections Contest first-place winners' artwork on display.
  • Multimedia Presentation
Inside the Nixon Theater, a video presentation will continuously showcase additional PYLUSD student artwork. The video will also feature promotional content highlighting our community art partners, including:

    • The Nixon Library
    • Parent Teacher Association (PTA Reflections Contest)
    • Yorba Linda Woman’s Club
    • Yorba Linda Arts Alliance (Artsology event)
    • Placentia Chamber of Commerce (Art Grants)
    • Placentia Women’s Rotary Club
    • 2025 PYLUSD Artworks Contest

We encourage all community members to attend this celebration of student creativity and artistic achievement. For further inquiries regarding Artworks, please contact Audra Ross at [email protected].

We look forward to seeing you there!
